DAY 1: ARRIVE IN CHENNAI
On arrival at Chennai airport, our representative shall meet you and will transfer to the hotel. This metropolis is often called the cultural capital of India for its deep-rooted traditions and long heritage. Chennai is a city younger than its image. More than any other city in India, it is a true reflection of this country diversity. On arrival check in at the hotel. Night Stopover.
DAY 2: CHENNAI CITY TOUR
After breakfast proceed for City tour. Chennai is often called the cultural capital of India for its deep-rooted traditions and long heritage. Chennai is a city younger than its image. Visit Fort St. George, constructed in 1653 during the British ruling period in India; St. Mary’s Church (the oldest Anglican Church in India); Kapaliswara Temple and Sri Parthasarathy Temple built by Pallavas in the 8th century AD. Evening relax at the Marina Beach. Return to the hotel for overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 3: CHENNAI – KANCHIPURAM – CHENNAI (By Road drive)
After Breakfast proceed for Kanchipuram excursion tour.
ABOUT TEMPLE: Kanchipuram is a famous temple city and popularly known as city of 1000 temples. Kailasanathar Temple is one of the most important temples and also one of the city’s historical monuments. Among the oldest temples in the temple city of Kanchipuram is Kailasanathar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kanchipuram is filled with temples dating from the 8th – 17th centuries. These temples are the perfect study of the evolutionary changes that the South Indian architecture underwent while different reigns made their impressions on them. King Rajasimha, ruler of the Pallava dynasty, built this Shiva temple in the early 8th century and completed by Mahendra Verma Pallava, his son. Mostly it was constructed with lime stone. A secret tunnel can be witnessed here and which was an escape point earlier days. An epitome of an early structural temple, Kailasanathar Temple reflects the rapidly emerging South Indian style: gopuras, plastered walls, a pyramidal shikhara, and a perimeter wall enclosing the complex. Return to the hotel for Night Stopover.
DAY 4: CHENNAI – MAHABALIPURAM or MAMALLAPURAM (By Road drive)
After breakfast proceed to Mahabalipuram. It is famous for its beautiful beach & the old age temple which reflect the Dravidian art & architect. Mahabalipuram holds its own, and stands as a silent yet eloquent witness to the glory of its creators. Arrive & check in to the hotel. Relax for some time & then proceed to explore the beautiful temples of Mahabalipuram such as The Shore Temple, Arjuna Penance. Later on visit Caves, Krishna Mandapam, Five Rathas, Return to the hotel. Evening relax at the beautiful beach. Night Stopover.
DAY 5: MAHABALIPURAM – PONDICHERRY (By Road drive)
On this day after breakfast you will check out from hotel & leave for Pondicherry. Enroute to Pondicherry, visit Auroville.
ABOUT AUROVILLE: Auroville was born on 28 February 1968. Its founder, the Mother, created the Auroville Charter consisting of four main ideas which underpinned her vision for Auroville. When Auroville came into being, All India Radio (AIR) broadcast the Charter, live, in 16 languages. Aurovilians apply the ideas of the Auroville Charter in their daily life, in policy-development, and decisions, big and small. The Charter thus forms an omnipresent referent that silently guides the people who choose to live and work for Auroville.
During the Auroville inauguration in 1968, youth from 124 different nations and 23 Indian states, deposited a handful of their native soil into the Urn, a marble clad structure in the form of a symbolic lotus bud, located in the centre of the Amphitheatre (see photo). The Auroville Charter – handwritten in French by the Mother – rests along with this soil, sealed in the Urn, as a powerful message and promise.

DAY 6: PONDICHERRY – TRICHY (By Road drive)
Morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel & proceed to Tiruchchirappalli(Trichy). On arrival at Tiruchchirappalli check into the hotel. Later we proceed to see Grand Anaicut – A popular picnic spot and must-see is the engineering marvel – the only stone dam in the world, the 300 m long Kallanai Dam (Built in 2nd AD by Chola King). Also visit the Rockfort Temple, Ranganathaswamy Temple, and Jambukeshwara Temple. Night Stopover.
DAY 7: TRICHY – THANJAVUR – TRICHY (By Road drive)
Today after breakfast we will proceed for the excursion tour of Thanjavur. This is a glimpse of an ancient structure in every corner, built lovingly by the Cholas, Nayaks and Marathas. Not just rulers, they were great patrons of art and culture – this explains the presence of over 44,000 palm leaf manuscripts. Visit Sri Brihadeeswarar Temple, Mariamman Temple, Mariamman Temple, Schwartz Church, & Sivagangai Garden. Return to Tiruchchirappalli for Night Stopover.
DAY 8: TRICHY – MEENAKSHI TEMPLE in MADURAI (By Road drive)
Morning after breakfast check out from hotel & transfer to Madurai. One of the oldest Indian cities and a great temple town. Deriving its name from the divine nectar that is believed to have dripped from Shiva’s matted locks Madurai is home to the celebrated Meenakshi Temple that was the site of one of the grandest celestial wedding. Later proceed to visit the famous Goddess Meenakshi Temple(UNESCO SITE), Thirumalai Nayak Mahal, Mariamman Teppakulam. Return to the hotel for Night Stopover.
DAY 9 : KANYAKUMARI (By Road drive)
After breakfast drive to Kanyakumari is the southernmost point of peninsular India and the meeting point of three oceans-the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. Besides its importance as a Hindu pilgrim center, it is famous for its beautiful views of sunrise and sunset over the waters. Later visit the Swami Vivekananda Memorial, Kanyakumari Temple, Gandhi Memorial & Sunset Point. Night Stopover.
DAY 10: KANYAKUMARI- TRIVANDRUM AIRPORT DEPARTURE
After breakfast day at leisure. Afternoon check out from hotel & transfer to Trivandrum Airport / Railway station for onward journey.
